The New York Television Festival is launching a unique Fellowship Program matching promising up-and-coming TV artists with some of the best-known names in television. As part of the program, prominent TV writers and producers hand-select the most talented pilot-makers featured in the NYTVF's Independent Pilot Competition and act as mentors on the artists' next TV project. Each of the pilot-makers selected by the mentors is named an official NYTVF Fellow.

The following distinguished producers are participating in the 2007 NYTVF Fellowship Program:

  • Michael Davies - Executive Producer, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, Wife Swap
  • Tom Fontana - Writer/Producer, Oz, St. Elsewhere, Homicide: Life On the Street
  • Mitchell Hurwitz - Creator/Executive Producer, Arrested Development
  • Phil Rosenthal - Creator/Executive Producer, Everybody Loves Raymond

These top producers will offer their time with a selected Fellow and give them guidance over the course of 6 months. If the Fellow produces a pilot from the idea that was developed as part of the mentorship, it will receive a special out-of-competition screening at the 2008 NYTVF.

The NYTVF is proud to present the inaugural class of the NYTVF Fellowship Program:

  • Barry Gribble - Executive producer, director, and writer of the comedy pilot Codeword Secret (Mentored by Phil Rosenthal)
  • Anne Jarmain - Executive producer and writer of the drama pilot, Dear Harvard (Mentored by Mitchell Hurwitz)
  • Kevin Napier - Executive producer, director, and writer of the comedy pilot Ex-Pats: Bangalore (Mentored by Tom Fontana)
  • Naren Young - Producer, writer, and co-star of the nonscripted travel pilot, The Happy Hour (Mentored by Michael Davies)
